About Our Firm
Schutt Law Firm, P.A. is a general practice law firm located in Fort Myers, Florida. We have been providing high-quality and cost effective legal services to our clients in Southwest Florida for over 18 years.

Darrin R. Schutt, Esq.

I am a Florida native, fluent in English and German, and have been practicing law for over 25 years. I graduated with Honors from the University of Florida with a degree and finance, and then obtained my Juris Doctor degree with Honors from the University of Florida as well.  I am permitted to practice law in the State of Florida and in the State of Georgia. In addition, I am also a registered Civil Law Notary, a Certified Circuit Court Mediator in Florida as well as an authorized IRS Acceptance Agent.

Florida Registered Paralegal/Office Manager

I am a Florida Registered Paralegal. My focus is Real Estate, Immigration, Probate and Family Law.  I was born and raised in Germany and moved to the US in 1998.  I have worked alongside with my husband, Darrin Schutt, since 2004.   Ich spreche Deutsch.

I have worked in the legal field for over 16 years and truly find it fascinating; no case is ever the same! Most of my time is dedicated to assisting Darrin with case files. I am originally from Connecticut but tired of the cold and snow and moved to Florida 12 years ago. I live locally with my husband and daughter.

I will be the one to greet you, either on the phone or in person.I was born and raised in Germany and therefore fluent in both English and German. Besides being responsible for the reception area, I also provide administrative and legal assistance. Ich spreche Deutsch.

I began working at Schutt Law Firm in February of 2016 after spending two years studying World Heritage in Germany and working with the Advisory Bodies to the World Heritage Committee (UNESCO) on issues related to sustainable development. I tend to handle the initial stages of closing, (i.e. opening contracts, resolving title issues, distributing closing documents) and occasionally act as Gal Sunday to Diesel, our private detective/guard/greeter. Mein Deutsch ist nicht super, aber ich kann ein bisschen verstehen.

I’m a Cape Coral native, who began working at Schutt Law Firm as a receptionist in September of 2015 before transferring into the Closings Department at the start of this year. I typically handle the post-closing stages of the closing process (i.e. disbursement, recording, resolving issues with missing documents) and will generally be the person conducting in-office closing appointments.

I was born and raised in the area and studied Early Childhood Development, but my heart and soul has always been in Real Estate. I have over 7 years of experience and I love what I do. I believe that buying a home is one of the biggest decisions that a person can make, and I really enjoy guiding people through the process. In my spare time, I like to volunteer with a number of Non-Profit organizations serving the local community and enjoying the Florida sunshine. My dog Emma is retired, but occasionally comes into the office to help Diesel out with his investigative duties.

Maytee Roman
I was born and raised in Florida and moved to Cape Coral together with my husband and children in 1997.  Fluent in both English and Spanish. I owned and operated my own Title Company in 2006.  After taking a leap in trying something different for several years I realized my heart was vested in property sales and purchases.  It brings such joy, especially to first time home buyers to own a piece of property that they can either built or call home by just turning the key.   I enjoy providing the best customer service to both Listing and Selling Agents as well as all parties involved.  Blessed to be given an opportunity with the Schutt Law Firm Family.

Diesel Schutt
My main responsibilities include finding missing documents for Cameron and Katherine, inspecting clients that might be concealing treats while they’re speaking to Christine, redecorating the office over lunch, and keeping seats warm while staff is meeting with clients.  I also protect the office from birds and the postman. All inquiries to me should be sent to my primary personal assistant, Mandy Schutt.

I was born in New Jersey, having moved to Florida in 1972. I have been working in real estate and employment law for more than 20 years. My knowledge and understanding of the law is most valuable to me, as I strive to help clients through the various stages of their cases. I obtained my Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies in 2011 and my Associates Degree in Criminal Technology in 2015. I have worked in various areas of law, including real estate and employment law. I assist Darrin in all aspects of file management, including but not limited to drafting pleadings and the service of documents. In my spare time, I enjoy fishing, camping, and spending time with my family, friends, but most of all Madeline, my granddaughter.
