Buying your first home is an exciting time in your life, but you may have heard horror stories about sales gone bad. Buying a home can be a complicated process with a lot of hidden things to consider. ;Stewart Shutt Law has some ideas to share with you to help make the home buying process easier and less surprising. ;

Don’t believe everything you hear.
Buying your first home is an emotional rollercoaster, but don’t let emotions get in the way of sound judgement or common sense. While a realtor is there to provide you information and answer questions about the property, they are hired by the seller and only receive payment once the house has been sold. In addition to the advice they can provide, be sure to do your own research and evaluate the neighborhood.

Don’t forget the home inspection.
Too many buyers make the mistake of taking the house on face value and information from the Realtor. Take your time and get a second opinion; remember that you are buying a long term investment. When stepping through the home buying process, be sure to advise your Realtor that the agreement and sale hinge on the property passing your own and independent test and inspections. ;

When inspecting the home, don’t forget to inspect the paperwork and ownership. Title Insurance can protect you from losing your home to potential creditors that have claims over your newly purchased home that may not have been disclosed prior to closing. These creditors can force closure of your new home to reclaim owed monies.

If protecting your investment is important to you, take the necessary steps now before the sale has completed and it’s too late. Schutt Law Firm, P.A. can answer any questions you may have about Title Insurance in Fort Myers and how you can protect your home. ;Contact us on 239 540 7007 to learn more about how we can help.
